Richard V. Trefz
Consultant

“The four most important elements required for success in a technology-driven company are a solid understanding of the marketplace and your customers; a total commitment to staying on the leading edge of technology and the industry; the development of a strong management team that can create and control momentum and a strategy that results in building profit into the mix...not adding it on.”

Richard V. Trefz has nearly 30 years of hands-on experience in senior management leadership. His track record as a successful practitioner involving business turnarounds and start-ups allows him to bring valuable knowledge and functional experience to all clientele. Mr. Trefz’s worldwide and domestic business involvement has included manufacturing, R&D, quality control, tactical analysis, licensing, acquisitions, joint ventures, clinical research, business analysis, market research and advertising. He is particularly skilled in strategic planning, tactical development and the successful implementation of business programs in the dental health arena.

Mr. Trefz has led the advancement of new technology (including design, development, clinical trials and FDA submissions) as the start-up CEO of a new retail dental product and service company which grew out of a failing, technology-flawed public company. During the first six months, the business model and the technology were introduced and more than 200 systems were installed in the U.S. market. The company’s stock improved from $1 to $12 by the end of the first year.

Mr. Trefz’s experience includes taking the reins of a collection of privately held dental health care companies spun off by a major drug company and implementing successful business methods based on the marketplace value of technical innovation, product quality, customer service and creative marketing. The companies’ revenues increased 25% to $60 million.

Mr. Trefz holds a degree in Business Administration from Philadelphia University and is active in professional organizations, especially in the dental community.
